For three weeks, I volunteered at Keimyung College University's Global Zone, opening the space each morning and running beginner and intermediate English conversation classes. One student came daily; she began unable to form a sentence and left able to hold a full conversation. Watching her progress taught me that persistence outpaces talent, and that teaching is mostly the patience to keep showing up. When it ended, I was reluctant to leave.
