Keimyung College University Volunteer

For three weeks, I volunteered at a Keimyung College University's Global Zone, opening the space each morning and running beginner and intermediate English conversation classes. One student came daily; she began unable to form a sentence and left able to hold a full conversation. Watching her progress taught me that persistence outpaces talent, and that teaching is mostly the patience to keep showing up. When it ended, I was reluctant to leave.

Black girls matter, Stem Volunteer

As part of my robotics team, I volunteered at Black Girls Do STEM, setting up the space, welcoming students and families, and sitting alongside them through the program. Hearing their core belief — that empowerment comes through exposure — reminded me that opportunity is not equally distributed, and that showing up is often the smallest, most necessary part of changing that. I left proud to have played a small role.
